The Nordic e-infrastructure Collaboration (NeIC) facilitates the development and operation of high-quality e-infrastructure solutions in areas of joint Nordic interest.
NeIC is a distributed organisation consisting of technical experts from high-performance computing centres within the Nordic countries. NeIC is administered by NordForsk and funded by national research funding agencies.

NeIC is a global role model for cross boarder distributed and sustainable e-infrastructure collaborations.
As a national e-infrastructure provider, Sigma2 is heavily involved in NeIC activities and represents Norway on the NeIC Board. In the NeIC collaboration, Sigma2 participates in several pan-Nordic projects, developing services and promoting cross-border sharing of competencies and best practices.

The 10-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), underpinning NeIC will expire in 2023. Presently work is ongoing for revising and renewing the basis for the NeIC organizational structure and funding, along with a new agreement.
