We are entering into an exciting partnership with LUMI-AI, the successor of LUMI and the new pan-European supercomputer and AI Factory. Through Sigma2, Norway will invest 215 million NOK in the LUMI-AI hardware. An additional 30 million NOK will be funded by the Norwegian Research Council to establish the Norwegian national part of the AI Factory.

Sigma2 is pleased to announce that Norway's next supercomputer now has its official name: Olivia. Olivia will play a significant role in developing artificial intelligence (AI), especially in developing and improving Norwegian language models.

The Research Council of Norway recommends investing 2.6 billion NOK in high-performance computing (HPC) for research and artificial intelligence over the next five years in a recently published report. The report evaluates the need for HPC and AI resources.
